Meaning is the reason for which all of this is a "thing." It's all about the greater message the author/the text is sending and how we derive that message from the words on the page.
The declaration/explanation of meaning must be supported by textual evidence and effects.
Again, go more in depth. This doesn't really help me with studying. Perhaps use an example of picking out textual evidence to support a theme.
